This work took up discourse within the environmental humanities around new materialist conceptions of non-human agency and transcorporeality. It looked at the Pacific rocky intertidal ecosystem as a site of encounter between terrestrial and marine space. I was interested in the book form and its relationship to a vessel or a bag or a body, and how or with whom the book object gets produced and imbued with meaning.
Materials: Mussel shells, paper, thread.
